Hey, just finding your excellent music blog via Ike (and Tina) - I got to see the classic live at Carnegie Hall - April 1, 1971 - cause I was going to NYU then. Of course, it was outlandish to see such raw soul on the stage where Tchiakovsky himself had conducted in 1891... and WONDERFUL. Historic too. Sad about IKE. He did great, he did bad...From Biography site... "The Ike & Tina Turner Revue was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, but he (IKE) was still in prison at the time and had to miss the ceremony."
Long live the Sounds of IKE TURNER, and IKE AND TINA TURNER.
